The ear is a fragile organ that must be cleaned carefully. As bacteria and yeast love a warm, moist environment it is important to keep your pet’s ears clean and dry, particularly after a swim or bath.

Establish a weekly routine to check your pets ears for waxy build up, excessive matting of hair in the external ear, redness or inflammation around the ear, retention of dirt, foreign material, or objects, in the ear canal. Remember to smell your pet’s ears. The presence of a sour, cheesy odour is usually indicative of a problem. Also check for dark waxy secretions. The dark, somewhat moist and inaccessible region of the ear tends to attract unwanted mites, fleas and ticks.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

  • To clean the ears, tilt your pets head downward with one hand and pour the ear cleaner into the ear, filling the canal. VetIQ Ear Cleaner’s flexi applicator helps to apply just the right amount.
  • Holding the ear closed, give it a nice massage to distribute the solution into the ear canal.
  • Now step back and allow your pet to shake their head.
  • Wipe away any remaining cleanser with a soft dry gauze or tissue.

VetIQ Ear Cleaner should be used on a daily basis until the foreign material is removed from the ear. Once removed, it can be used on alternate days and then once a week for two weeks.

Do not use cotton tipped applicators as they can drive dirt and debris deeper into your pet’s ear.
